How to use Datafeedr with WordPress Multisite

Datafeedr works with WordPress Multisite which enables you to create multiple sites that are sub-domains, sub-directories or completely different domains on single installation of WordPress.

Why WordPress Multisite?

There are a number of reasons to use WordPress Multisite, but primarily, if you need to run multiple WordPress sites but don't want to manage multiple WordPress installations, then running WordPress Multisite is the way to go.

In the context of using Datafeedr with WordPress Multisite, there are a couple of reasons you might want to use WordPress Multisite with Datafeedr instead of standalone WordPress installations:

  1. Large Stores - If you want to build a large store with very broad categories (ex. Men's Clothing, Women's Clothing, Kitchen Appliances, Furniture, etc...), then each one of those categories could be its own site instead of creating a single site which has 100s of categories and 100s of 1000s of products.
  2. Many Websites - If you want to have many websites and stores but don't want to install all of the same plugins and themes over and over again.

How to use Datafeedr with WordPress Multisite

When setting up Datafeedr with WordPress Multisite, first you want to prepare your website for Multisite.

After you have completed the Multisite setup tasks, you need to install the Datafeedr plugins you plan on using.

IMPORTANT

Do not "Network Activate" any of the Datafeedr plugins. All Datafeedr plugins should be activated on a per-site basis, not "globally" nor on a "network-level".

After you have created a new site on your network of sites, go to the new site's Dashboard and follow the Getting Started Guide.
