How to Use the Scratchpad
The Scratchpad
The Scratchpad allows you to easily search for products across all networks and merchants in a single query. To search for products, use the search fields to input information about the product, such as the product color, category, ID, etc. You can use as many of the search fields as you like, but you must use at least one. Once you have information in the search field(s), press Search to search for that product.
There are numerous sections of the Scratchpad that can help you with your searches:
1. Lightbulb
The Lightbulb section provides example searches. By clicking on one of the example searches, the search fields will automatically populate with the information needed for this search. You can then substitute the information in the fields with the information of the product you are searching for.
2. Products
The Products section will show you all of the products that match the information in your search fields. Under each product, you can view the product details, including the product ID, network, network ID, merchant, merchant ID, price, and currency. In order to improve the accuracy of the search, there is a 10,000 product limit per each search on the Scratchpad.
3. {} Data
The {} Data section will display all of the fields available for that product. Note that some fields have been redacted in the Scratchpad.
4. Networks
The Networks section shows the number of networks that are selling the product you searched for. For example, there are 142 Networks who are selling a product that matched with this search for hiking boots. The Networks section also shows you how many products in your search are from each Network. For example, there are 610,131 products that matched with this search for hiking boots under Impact US. 5. Merchants
The Merchants section shows the number of merchants that are selling the product you searched for. For example, there are 1,360 merchants who are selling a product that matched with this search for hiking boots. The Merchants section also shows you how many products in your search are from each Merchant. For example, there are 302,726 products that matched with this search for hiking boots under Walmart-shoes. For more information, click HERE to watch a video tutorial on using the Merchants section.
6. JSON
The JSON section is used only by developers connecting programmatically with the API. Here you will find the exact JSON code which can be used to make a request to our API using a programming language. For more information about using API requests to find products, read the documentation HERE.
7. Learn
The Learn section provides tips on how to maximize your search results. Here, you will find a description of every search field and how to use it. For example, how to use the "IDs" search field, the "Barcode" search field, etc.
8. Share
At the bottom of the search fields, you will find the Share section that will generate a URL. This shareable URL gives you the ability to share your search with others, such as with a team member or with support. This section also allows support to share a search with you. It is important to note that this URL will expire after 30 days.
9. Clear
If you want to run a new search, press the Clear button to automatically delete the information in all the search fields.
